What do we do on a rainy day?

We play in mud puddles, of course.

Claire LOVES her umbrella. Unfortunately, the dogs got it off the front porch that day and tore it up :( Damn dogs.

We try to go up the stair when no one is looking.

And we give the baby a ponytail.

11 Months

We had to have two photo sessions this month. Shelby is way too busy to have her picture made. Shelby probably hasn't grown much in size. But, she started walking and never looked back. She is babbling still and can distinctly say 'dog'. I think she says some other words, but I am not exactly sure what they are :) She was sick for the first time about 10 days ago. Fever of 102.8! She was such a trooper and didn't even really cry about it. Just turned out to be viral. She is still a decent eater and is a much better sleeper. Shelby is a social butterfly. She loves going to people's houses, ballet, the store. Anywhere! She just likes to be busy. I laugh because she just wanders around the house with no destination. Just walking because she can! I can't believe I am about to start planning her first birthday! Sure did come fast.

Am I really 30?

My sister and her family came from Panama City

Me and Carla (my best friend who helped Bucky a ton!)

Me and Laura (who helped despite having a sick husband and 2 year old)

The Bunco Group represents (Elyse, Ansley, Me, Laura, Megan, and Carla). Megan helped at 38 weeks pregnant!

We actually still look about the same. Plus a few...

The Street Side

The Harkins came from South Carolina

Bucky, PaPaw, Drew

Karaoke

Laura, my friend my college, came from Heflin.

So, I may have 'hinted' to Bucky that I wanted a party for my 30th birthday. Just something small. I mean, we have celebrated my birthday together since I was 15 years old. And 30 is a big deal. But, I had no idea what he had been planning for the past few weeks. Bucky went all out last Saturday night and had me a surprise 30th birthday. It was so much fun! He had a lot of help from Carla, Megan, Laura, his Mom, etc. People came from Florida, South Carolina, Birmingham. It was great! Bucky had a DJ, alcohol, food, cake. And everything was decorated so cute. Thank you so much to my sweet husband, all my family, and friends for making my 30th birthday wonderful. I had so much fun and appreciate everyone coming and helping! Here's to my next 30 years!

Daddy Daughter Date Night

Bucky and Claire

Bucky and Claire with some of his friends from work and their daughters

Sweet Sara loves Shelby!

Last night was Claire first time at the Daddy Daughter Date Night. She has been talking about it for a while. So, she was very excited. She got up from her nap ready to get her dress on. I even managed to curl her hair a little bit but she didn't have time for any make up. Bucky's boss from work invited us over to take pictures. The little girls in the pictures are all 8 to 9 years and have going since they were 3! They were so sweet to include Claire. Shelby loved playing with them too. What a special night for a special little girl and her daddy!

And She's Off!

My last post was for Shelby's 10 month update. Now, just 2 short weeks later, she is walking! She started taking some steps about 10 days ago and has slowly improved. Yesterday, she was really being brave. I can't believe how quickly she has caught on to walking! She gets very excited and you can tell she is proud of herself. It does look a little funny because she is a very short little person walking around. Claire gets pretty excited too (you can hear us both in the background). She can take about 10 unassisted steps and keep her balance very well. Occasionally, she does fall. But, she has caught herself with her hands every time. I guess she is trying to keep up with her big sister!

Feeding the Ducks

We took advantage of a cold, clear day and went to feed the ducks. Claire was very sure to make sure every duck got a piece of hot dog bun. Shelby and Ariel rode around contently in their strollers. Sure beats hanging around the house whining when you don't take a nap!
