and look out the window.

I wish I had Claire's energy in the morning. She definitely gets that from her Dad! We have some much fun doing our morning routine. Especially after a good nights sleep!

We went to Lake Martin today to see our good friend the Sains. They live from Texas to Alabama to Florida. So, we are always glad to see them all together. Bucky's good friend, Jeremy, and his wife just had a beautiful baby girl. It was our first time to meet her. She is so beautiful and sweet. Very laid back. What a blessing! Claire enjoyed playing with the older girls, Grayson & Bailey. Bucky was actually able to get Claire to take a 2 hr nap in a big bed. I was so proud. She woke up ready to play. It rained off and on all day so we weren't able to swim or ski. We were able to take a short boat ride with all of the little girls. Claire had fun on the boat but was much more entertained by some rain water on a blue raft. She splashed and played and crawled. Who knows! We had a great day seeing everyone, despite the cloudy weather! Happy Memorial Day!

Here are a few pictures my friend Ashley made of Claire yesterday. We met her at Kiesel Park and she got some great pictures. I can't believe how big she is! Ashley is very talented. Mother's Day

I just wanted to take a moment to share how thankful I am for Mother's Day. It is a day to celebrate all forms of women. Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, Sisters, and Daughters. It is a day of remembering all the women who have influenced you throughout your life. Whether they have children of their own or not, there are so many women who I have taken a piece from. That is how we become better mothers and daughters. I do not take being a mother for granted. I know many women who want and long for children. I know I am no better of a person or mother than them. But, for some reason I have been given the incredible blessing of being a mother. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have my beautiful daughter. I promise to her and any future children to raise them in a loving, Christan home. I promise to always do my best and put them first. I am able to do these things because that is what my Mom did for me. Thank you to all of the mothers out there who have made me a better mother. I love all of you and hope you had a very happy mother's day.

12 Month Check-up

Claire went last week for her 12 month check-up. It was pretty un-eventful, even with shots. Dr. Greer said she is very healthy and we should be proud. Of course we are!

WEIGHT: 2olb 4oz (just under 50% percentile)

HEIGHT: 28.5 inches (just under 50% percentile)
HEAD CIR: I didn't write down but is was just under 50% percentile

Very well proportioned and growing like a weed. She is getting much better at walking and is loving her new sandbox. We are very happy to have a health, sweet little girl. Thank you Lord!

Taking BIG steps!

Claire officially took her first steps this past Thursday night (April 30). She and Bucky were playing in the den while I was ironing. He kept trying to get her to and finally, she took a few steps toward him. I was so glad he was able to see a first. I have gotten to see most of them, so it was definately long overdue. She has continued to take about 3-5 steps. I have been trying really hard to get it in film, but this is the best I got. Enjoy! Our little girl is growing up....
